It was strange, being alone on the TARDIS with the Doctor. With Amy gone, everything seemed so much quieter, less exciting. The Doctor himself seemed more brooding and stayed up late into the night muttering and going about things rather manically. In the end, the promise of "We'll get her back, Rory" was often repeated and reassured. Rory had nothing more but to believe him.

Standing next to him at the console, Rory hesitantly pointed to the screen, "And where are we going...?" It looked like a planet covered in lava, making him feel rather uneasy. "Can't we try somewhere... less... hot?"

It was late, just after midnight to be specific, when Rory unlocked the door and deposited his keys on the table by the door. He had agreed to swap half a shift with a coworker and he was quite thankful he didn't have to stay any longer as the A&E was ridiculously packed that evening and a pile up off the motorway didn't make things any easier.

The flat was already dark, so he tried to be as quiet as possible as he moved about the bedroom, seeing the mess of ginger hair splayed out on the pillow belonging to Amy. He smiled briefly as he collected some clothes before creeping back to the bathroom for a shower and brush of teeth.

When he sunk into bed, he reached over to rub her shoulders, and looped an arm around her middle before placing a chin on her, "No hello?"
